Career Advancement…know your superpowers

Career Advancement???  It’s simple….Be Humble, Hungry & Smart.   

I love the simplicity of these 3 words.

And after +20 years in the corporate world, I think they are right.

I heard them on a podcast (How Leaders Lead) that featured Patrick Lencioni ...and he also talked about knowing your 6 superpowers. 

As part of my corporate career coaching and helping people either land a job or advance in their careers, I stress how important it is to know your unique strengths and positioning

…..that is of value to a company. 

Patrick had a fresh view on unique strengths – he called them the “six superpowers”. 

Here they are for your reflection, in case it helps you think about how to position yourself to stand out for a job or in your career.  

1) Wonder …. (aka - vision)

2) Invention ….(aka - bring vision to life – bring from theory to reality)

3) Discernment/Intuition …..(aka - have a good sense for how it could work – or doesn’t)

4) Galvanize….(aka – get people aligned to “work” on bringing idea to life)

5) Enable…..(aka – support people to get what they need – so they can get the job done)

6)Tenacity…..(aka – stick to it - work through the obstacles & challenges)

Which “superpowers” do you have?  …and very likely you won’t have them all – but knowing where you shine is so important in how you position yourself for success.
