Playing JENGA with your communication
Great communicators – play JENGA with words….as scarcity wins the game.
Given I frequently work with clients who struggle to communicate themselves in succinct impactful ways, I wanted to pass on some of the messages from this podcast that I thought were so helpful.

Here are a few of the concepts I loved.
Powerful messages are:
- Beneficial, salient (stand out from the noise), focused, empathetic and minimal
- Easily perceived, understood, and acted upon
- Focused, contain everything you need, BUT only what you need.
Here’s a FUN perspective to land the point of focus.
Play Jenga with your sentences --- pull out words, until the sentence falls down. Then go back one step so it doesn't fall.
As with Jenga, the winner has the least amount of blocks left before the tower falls.
Ie…Least amount of words to make the sentence complete.
Building a “PERSAUSIVE” message.
Try interrogating a message to go deeper to the benefit.
Example. If I am trying to sell you gum. You don’t want tell the consumer it’s “mint” flavoured gum, you want to tell them it’s the gum that makes your breath fresh so that you can go on the date and make a good impression. ……now that’s interrogating and peeling the message down to the ultimate benefit.
Great communication makes a great impact on your reputation.
